Luncheon in Support for Trojans Trek

On Thursday 11th May, RSL Care SA hosted a networking Luncheon in support for Trojans Trek where RSL Care SA Chair, Loretta Byers presented a cheque for $10,000 to Lieutenant Colonel Moose Dunlop OAM (Retd) from Trojans Trek in support of their veteran programs.

What is Trojans Trek?

Trojan’s Trek plan, conduct and evaluate wilderness based peer support interventions to assist service and ex-service personnel, adversely affected by their service. Trojan’s Trek is the only Australian evidence-based peer to peer therapy for ex-service people. Research shows the programs have a lasting effect on lifestyle long after leaving the trek.

As Trojans Trek state on their website, the trek is a trek in name only. The journey is not physical, it is more in the mind than skeletal. The approach taken by Trojans Trek is that it is not an extreme event designed to test body and soul, it is the start of a new approach to life; a new way of looking at their existence and the people they love and deal with.

RSL Care SA is proud to have been providing this level of financial support to Trojans Trek since 2014 and is pleased to be involved in bringing about positive change in the lives of veterans.
